phpMyAdmin

phpmyadmin.png apg

The

phpMyAdmin

is written in

PHP

and its purpose is to manage the

Databases

created by the

MySQL Community Server

Such version must be downloaded by clicking on the link below:

mya01.png apg

Its current version is 5.0.2.

For you, it may be another, probably more recent.

The zipped file can be, for example, temporarily stored in the folder.

The downloaded file:

phpMyAdmin-5.0.XX-all-languages.zip

temporarily stored in:

H:/WEB/temp

Unzip the file:

H:/WEB/temp/phpMyAdmin-5.0.XX-all-languages.zip

to:

H:/WEB/public_html

mya02.png apb

The unzip produces only 1 folder.

The file:

H:/WEB/public_html/phpMyAdmin-5.0.XX-all-languages

For simplification, it should be renamed to:

H:/WEB/public_html/phpmy

mya04.png apb

Open this folder:

H:/WEB/public_html/phpmy

mya05.png apb

This folder has about 113 items.

Open the highlighted file:

config.sample.inc.php

with

Notepad++

This file is the default for configuring

phpMyAdmin

however, it must be edited to meet our needs.

config.inc.php

As a suggestion, we show, below, our configuration used in this tutorial:

The above file, then edited, must be saved as:

config.inc.php

in the folder:

H:/WEB/public_html/phpmy

This file will therefore be the initial settings file for:

phpMyAdmin

H:/WEB/public_html/phpmy/config.inc.php

We will re-edit this settings file later.
