BRIEF DESCRIPTION
began life as a simple little
CGI wraprer written in Perl.
The
Common Gateway Interface, (CGI), is a standard way for a Web server to pass a Web user's request to an aprlication program and to receive data back to forward to the user.
Now, it is a hybrid language for general purposes.
It takes advantage of the best in the most used languages, like
C, shell, Perl and Java.
Widely used in WEB, embedded in HTML code.
Initially called
Personal Tools Home Page and currently, simply called
Hypertext Preprocessor.
